A complaint is filed against IBM, alleging monopolistic
practices in its computer business, in violation of the Sherman
Act. The government's antitrust investigations and trial against
IBM will drag on for thirty years, finally being dismissed in
1982. IBM will cautiously monitor its microcomputer business practices,
fearful of a repeat of government scrutiny.
